The Obi of Akamili, in Anambra Edwin Oduonye, has described the arrest of kidnapper, “Evans” as a big shame to the community.
According to the 81- year-old, who was speaking with the Nation, “Evans” was a good boy while growing up in Nnewi, adding that he changed when he later began to mix with “bad groups.”
“He was a good boy when he was a child, but I believe that he derailed when he started mixing with bad groups,” the elderly man who slumped when told of the development, said.
“This is painful because the boy in question is from my domain and Nnewi at large. Our people are not known for something like this; they are hardworking people. “I have never seen such a thing before, only God can adjudicate on an issue like this.
He further noted that the present condition has brought confusion to the community.
“The present condition has not only put his family in confusion but the entire Nnewi clan. Whether dead or alive, he has brought shame to our people,” Oduonye stated.
Evans was arrested about two weeks ago by the Lagos State Police Command after he was declared wanted.
He has since been making startling confessions about his kidnapping adventure.
