3 Min Read

Emir of Zazzau, Alhaji Sheu Idris said Etisalat is the most innovative and fastest growing network and has quality service delivery. The Royal father gave this endorsement when the senior management team of the network led by its Chief Executive Officer, Mr. Steve Evans, paid him a courtesy call at his palace in Zaria.

The visit was part of activities to celebrate the launch of the Etisalat Telecommunications Engineering Programme (ETEP), West Africa’s first Masters course in Telecommunications Engineering at the Ahmadu Bello University (ABU).

This commendation comes on the heels of several other endorsements by notable Nigerians across the country for its unique products, services and quality network coverage pan Nigeria. Idris, a leading traditional ruler and one of the respected voices in the northern part of the country, described Etisalat’s network as the best means of communication across the nation.

The assessment, he said, is based on the feedback he received from not only his subjects, but also from friends and colleagues across the country, saying that this has validated the company’s growing reputation as one of the fastest growing and innovative telecommunications company in Nigeria.

According to him, the Etisalat network can be received in the furthermost parts of not only Kaduna State, but also in other states in the north. He commended Etisalat Nigeria’s corporate social responsibility (CSR) efforts, especially in the educational development of the country, and urged the telecoms provider to extend this to the health sector.

Etisalat Nigeria CEO, Evans thanked the Emir and the people of Zaria for their support since the launch of its commercial operations over four years ago. He noted that this support has seen the company grow its subscriber base to over 15 million, and disclosed that in terms of revenue, Etisalat Nigeria “is the third most prosperous telecommunications company in the country.”

The company, he added, also remains number one in terms of voice and data services, saying that this has been validated by the numerous quality of service award it has received over the years.
