Mixed Reaction Trails Dad’s Decision To Take Ese To Synagogue For Deliverance

2 Min Read

Following his daughter’s reluctance to go back to their home in Opolo, Bayelsa State, Charles Oruru, the father of Ese Oruru, who was abducted and taken to Kano by a man identified simply has Yunusa, said he would be seeking spiritual help from Pastor TB Joshua, the General Overseer of the Synagogue Church of All Nations (SCOAN).

Ese Oruru was abducted by Yunusa, who is nicknamed Yellow, in August 2015 and taken to Kano, where he converted her to Islam and married her.

At the time she was abducted, she was 13 years old.

After the police secured her release on Tuesday, Ese reportedly said she did not want to go back to her parents home.

But Charles Oruru said her refusal to come back home was because she had been hypnotised by her abductors.

Reacting to the revelation, the girl’s father said: “We have decided to visit the T. B. Joshua for prayers and thanksgiving. When I heard that she is declining to come home, I see this as a spiritual problem that can only be countered by prayer.”

However, many Nigerians, who have been keenly watching the situation since the news broke late last week, have conflicting views on the need to seek spiritual help.
