Nollywood veteran, Ernest Asuzu has said that he went shirtless to beg for alms in Lagos in order to drive home the seriousness of his situation.
The actor, who is suffering from a stroke, stated this in a new video making the rounds on social media.
The Herald recalls that a video that went viral a few days ago showed Asuzu, who could barely walk, begging for alms in Oke-Afa area of Ejigbo-Isolo in Lagos.
A good Samaritan, John Louis, shared the video and appealed for support for the actor, who nodded in affirmation.
“So we are calling on Nollywood to come and assist their member. It is not only to act the film, but this guy also cannot even walk,” Louis said.
But in the new video, Asuzu said he was not mentally derailed as being speculated. He said he went shirtless to show the urgency of his situation.
He said he would appreciate any financial assistance from Nigerians that would enable him take care of his medical bills.
