Arsenal’s EPL season got off to a poor start on Friday as Mikel Arteta’s side lost 2-0 to newly-promoted Brentford.
A goal each from Sergi Canos and Christian Noergaard on either side of the half ensured that the home side got their campaign to a satisfactory start.
The unexpected loss piled early pressure on Arteta, who looked forlorn at the Brentford Community Stadium, as Arsenal fans openly expressed their frustration with the team’s performance.
His side will meet UCL winners Chelsea and EPL titleholders Manchester City in weeks 2 and 3 of the current campaign, as the club hopes to bounce back from the first week’s shocking loss.
