Players of Enyimba FC have appealed to the club’s management for compensation after losing their valuables to armed robbers on Monday.
The men of the underworld attacked the reigning NPFL kings in Okene on their way to Kaduna for the Nigeria Professional Football League tournament.
In a chat with Goal, a top official of the team revealed that the players were unhappy losing their prized asset and want the management to pay the costs.
“We have arrived Kaduna and we are ready for the Super Four but the players are still not happy because of the things they lost in the armed robbery incident,” the official told Goal.
“They have appealed to the management to express their displeasure and would be happy if their stolen items are bought.” Enyimba opened their Super Four account yesterday with a 1-1 draw against Nasarawa United after Akwa United lost 0-1 to Warri Wolves in the first match at the Ahmadu Bello Stadium, Kaduna.
The Super Four is a competition organized by the League Management Company (LMC) to keep Nigerian clubs in inter-club competitions in Africa ample time to have test matches before their preliminary round matches next month.
