Enyimba football club have been robbed by suspected armed robbers who attacked the bus they were travelling on to participate in this year’s Super 4 tournament scheduled for Kaduna.
According to a couple of tweets on the club’s Twitter handle, the People’s Elephants, as the club is popularly known, were attacked on Monday afternoon around Okene, Kogi State.
Though no life was lost and no one injured, the robbers carted away the team’s valuables.
The tweets read: “We can confirm that our team bus was attacked by armed robbers this afternoon in Okene, Kogi State on our way to Kaduna for the #SuperFour”.
“Thankfully, there were no injuries during this unfortunate incident. Players and officials were however stripped of all valuables,” the club said.
Recall that Kano Pillars were equally attacked by armed men at the beginning of last season.
