Enugu State will host the Super 4 Football Tournament organised by the League Management Company (LMC), the Media Manager of Rangers International FC, Foster Chime, has said.
Chime told the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in Enugu on Tuesday that the tournament had been fixed for Dec. 7 to Dec. 11 at the main bowl of the Nnamdi Azikiwe Stadium, Enugu.
He explained that the teams for the Super 4 would be the winners of the Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL), and runner-up, as well as winners of the Federation Cup and runner-up.
The media officer said that Rangers International was already in camp in Benin in preparation for the Super 4 tournament.
“Even in the Benin camp, we have started playing matches with some clubs. We had two matches between Saturday and Monday; and have lined up many more as the camp progresses.
“We are preparing very hard since we know what is at stake, as well as to stamp our foot on the ground as being the number one club in the country through the tournament.
“Also, we are aware that we are going to play in front of our teeming and esteemed football fans in Enugu and its environs.
“So we are putting that into consideration and we are not joking with the Super 4 tournament at all,’’ he said.
NAN reports that clubs participating in the tournament are: Rangers International FC; Rivers United FC; FC Ifeanyi Uba and Nasarawa United. (NAN)
