The Lagos State Police Command has arrested a man, Segun Titilayo for allegedly secretly killing and burying his girlfriend, Oritoke Manni.

The 26-year victim was a bar attendant at K.C Hotel, Apakin Town.

The incident occurred at Otolu town in Ibeju-Lekki area of Lagos.

Lagos State Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), Muyiwa Adejobi disclosed in a Thursday statement.

He noted that on October 13, 2020, at about 11am, Segun called the deceased by phone to visit him. But Oritoke could not be traced afterwards.

Her family subsequently declared her missing and made a report to the police.

He said the 29-year-old boyfriend was arrested after one Engineer Adegbago David, of Adron Homes and Properties, made a report to the Police Station at Akodo Area on November 7.

According to the statement, David said a corpse was found as his company, while excavating its site at Otolu town, exhumed the body.

“The state Commissioner of Police, Lagos State, Hakeem Odumosu, has condemned the crime and directed the Deputy Commissioner of Police in charge of the State CID, DCP Yetunde Longe, to carry out thorough investigation into the matter.
