Engineer docked for stealing ex-girlfriend’s clothes worth N25,000

A 33-year-old engineer Ayomide Ademola, was on Friday arraigned in a Mararaba Grade 1 Area Court, Aso Pada, Nasarawa State, for allegedly breaking in and stealing his ex-girlfriend’s clothes worth N25, 000.

Ademola, a resident of Aso B, Mararaba, Nasarawa State, is also being accused of defrauding the defendant of the sum of N65, 000.

The defendant, who is being tried for criminal breach of trust, cheating, criminal trespass and theft, however, denied committing the offences.

The Prosecutor, Sgt. Agabi Auta, told the court that the victim, one Margret Bisong of same address with the defendant, reported the matter at the Aso Pada Police Station, on May 16.

“The complainant alleged that sometime in January, the defendant, who is her former boyfriend, borrowed N65, 000 from her following an agreement that he would pay back before the end of February.

“But with intend to cheat the complainant, the defendant failed to pay, rather on May 10, he criminally entered her room and stole her clothes, valued at N25, 000,” Auta stated.

He said that the offences contravened sections 312, 322 and 348 of the Penal Code.

The judge, Salisu Mohammed granted the defendant bail in the sum of N100, 000 and one surety in like sum.

Mohammed adjourned the case until May 31, for further hearing. (NAN)
