The Senior Pastor of Daystar Christian Centre, Pastor Sam Adeyemi, has described as “frivolous” a criminal complaint filed against him by a businessman and activist, Kenechukwu Okeke.
Okeke on Monday at the Chief Magistrate’s Court in Abuja instituted a lawsuit against Adeyemi and 49 others for using Twitter to promote the #EndSARS protests.
He argued that the violence which trailed the protests that held in October led to the destruction of his business, noting that the defendants must be brought to book for promoting the #EndSARS protests.
Some other defendants Damini Ogulu aka Burna Boy, David Adeleke popularly known as Davido, Folarin Falana popularly known as Falz; and Instagram comedians, Debo Adebayo aka Mr Macaroni, and Maryam Apaokagi aka Taooma.
Okeke also sued Peter and Paul Okoye, Innocent Idibia aka Tuface, Bankole Wellington popularly known as Banky W, Tiwa Savage, Michael Ajereh aka Don Jazzy and Yemi Alade.
Others listed are Senior Pastor, Daystar Christian Centre, Pastor Sam Adeyemi; activist, Aisha Yesufu; ex-Super Eagles legend, Kanu Nwankwo; a former Director-General of Bureau for Public Sector Reform (BPSR), Dr. Joe Abah; journalist, Kiki Mordi, and actors, Yul Edochie and Uche Jombo.
Also joined in the suit are social media influencers – Feyikemi Abudu, Olorunrinu Oduala, Pamilerin Adegoke, Japhet Omojuwa, Ayo Sogunro and Deji Adeyanju.
But reacting through Twitter, Adeyemi wrote, “Who sent this guy to file this frivolous law suit?”
