EndSARS: Ganduje’s Aide Chides Buhari Over Silence On Protests

2 Min Read
Yakasai

Salihu Yakasai, a social media aide to Governor Abdullahi Ganduje of Kano State, has chided President Muhammadu Buhari for not addressing Nigerians over the ongoing #EndSARS protests.

He charged the president to spare five minutes to address Nigerians on the nationwide protests that have turned violent in some cities.

In a now-deleted Sunday tweet, Yakasai said, “I have never seen a government with zero empathy like that of President Muhammadu Buhari.

“So many times when his people are going through a difficult time and expect some sort of tap on shoulder to reassure them that he is in charge, but he failed to do so.

“The ‘I don’t care attitude’ is on another level.”

In a follow-up tweet that was still available on his handle @dawisu as at 12:50 pm Sunday, Yakasai stated, “To speak to your own people over issues that are bedevilling them has become something like a favour you are doing to them.

“Over and over again, you cannot spare five minutes to address the nation to calm them down, the same people you went to the 36 states to beg for their votes, it is heartbreaking.”

The governor’s aide added, “Whatever you do in life, make sure you never lose ur voice.

“Speak up against injustice, speak up against inaction, speak up for what you believe in, demand for your right and never let a temporary position or privilege stop you from standing with the people. Enough is enough! #EndSARS”
