Germany international Emre Can has agreed a deal to Italian giants Juventus and will make his way to Italy from Liverpool in the next few weeks.
Can’s new contract with the Serie A champions will pay him €5 million (£4m/$6m) per season and will begin when his current deal with Liverpool expires at the end of June.
Can refused a new deal with Liverpool and had been on Juventus’ radar for a while.
The midfielder has more or less been replaced at Anfield already with the arrival of Fabinho and Keita offsetting the midfielder’s departure.
CEO of Juventus Beppe Marotta had hinted at the deal since May saying; “We are optimistic about the positive end of negotiations with Emre Can,
“We hope to announce his signing after the Champions League final.”
Can joined the Champions League finalists in 2014 from Bayern Munich and scored 14 goals with three of them in the just concluded Champions League.
He didn’t win any trophies but enamored himself to the Kop with his determined displays and his versatility.
Can will not be at this year’s World Cup as injury hampered his chances, it is hoped that the same issues do not plague him at his new club.
He will join international teammate Sami Khedira.
