Information just filtering in has it that the Emir of Keffi, Alhaji Muhammadu Cindo Yamusa II, is dead.
He died in the early hours of Friday in his palace in Keffi, Nasarawa State, Leadership reports.
The septuagenarian monarch’s death was attributed to a brief illness, a statement from his brother, Alhaji Abubakar Gada Mohammed, Dan Galadiman Keffi, confirmed.
The late monarch ruled the emirate for over 37 years, having ascended to the throne in 1978.
Describing the death as “shocking”, Mohammed said the late monarch’s remains will be buried in Keffi according to Islamic rites after Juma’at prayer on Friday, Leadership reported.
