Al Ain FC of Abu Dhabi striker Emmanuel Emenike was the first player to arrive Super Eagles Bolton White Apartments camp ahead of this weekend’s Africa Cup of Nations’ qualifier against the Taifa Stars of Tanzania in Dar es Salaam.
Other players who have arrived include KAA Gent of Belgium winger Moses Daddy Simon, AS Trencin of Slovakia duo, Kingsley Madu and Rabiu Ibrahim. Russia based duo, Izunna Uzochukwu and Sylvester Igboun make up the other early arrivals.
Emenike last scored for Nigeria on the 13th of October 2013 in a World Cup qualifier against the Wayla Antelopes of Ethiopia at the National Stadium, Addis Ababa.
In a similar vein, the Super Eagles will leave Abuja on Thursday for Saturday’s 2017 Africa Cup of Nations qualifying match against the Taifa Stars of Tanzania.
Both countries have not met at senior level since December 1980, but there have been clashes at junior level, and an African Women Championship qualifying fixture, in recent years.
Arrival at the Julius Nyerere International Airport, Dar es Salaam will be at 10 pm local time of the same day.
Nigeria’s delegation will be made up of 23 players, technical officials, a number of Members of NFF Executive Committee and Management, NFF Staff, some representatives of the media, football stakeholders and members of the Nigeria Football Supporters Club.
