EME Just Wanted Me to Be Just a Rapper – Skales

2 Min Read

Speaking recently on TV programme Rubbin’ Minds, popular musician Raoul John Njeng – Njeng aka Skales talked about his decision to leave Banky W’s EME records.

“I and Banky W are cool. He still looks out for me. As for my song Shake Body, I played it for him about a year before I left EME but he did not like it. Instead he and the other guys at EME wanted me to just be a rapper but I wanted to be a musician.”

Going further, Skales also talked about his recent spat with Wizkid. Saying it wasn’t a publicity stunt.

“My fight with Wizkid wasn’t a publicity stunt. I guess we were just having a bad day. I and Wizkid are cool though even though I’ve not seen him in a while, you know he’s busy, I’m busy so it has not worked out yet. But whenever we see, I’ll definitely holla.”

He also to dancehall act Timaya as his mentor.

“Timaya has been a blessing to my career. At a point I couldn’t even afford 2k or 3k to fix my car but Timaya was a big help to me. We seek each other’s opinion on our materials and career In general.”
