The embattled former National Security Adviser (NSA), Col. Sambo Dasuki (retd) during a court proceeding at the Federal High Court in Abuja has disclosed that he is being punished by some individuals at the highest level of power in the country.
The embattled former NSA told the court that his prosecution stems from the grievances the high powered individuals hold against him from his days of active military service years ago.
Sambo Dasuki however failed to mention names as he told the court through his legal counsel, Joseph Daudu in reply to a motion by the Federal Government requesting for a secret trial: “It is crystal clear that the defendant (Dasuki) is being punished by the powers that be for the perceived offences committed long before… we leave them to the Almighty God for his ultimate judgment.”
Dasuki’s counsel however rejected the motion for a secret trial filed by the Federal Government stating that it would breach the principle of fair trial.
The presiding judge over the case, Justice Ademola fixed September 13, 14 and 15 for the ruling and continuation of trial.
