Minister of Communications and Digital Economy, Dr. Isa Ali Pantami is presently attending the 42nd Virtual Federal Executive Council (FEC) meeting presided over by President Muhammadu Buhari despite an overwhelming call for his resignation or sacking.
It is also the first FEC meeting that President Buhari is presiding over since he returned from a two-week medical trip to London, United Kingdom.
Many Nigerians had taken to social media to demand the minister’s resignation, or sacking by President Buhari, after video clips emerged of him expressing support for terror groups like Al-Qaeda and the Taliban.
The 48-year-old minister and notable Islamic cleric recently renounced his views, blaming his controversial comments made in his sermons in the early 2000s on immaturity.
