Embattled Monaco Manager Henry Set to be Sacked

2 Min Read

Monaco manager Thierry Henry could be out of a job after 3 months of just getting it with the Principality club announcing that the Frenchman has been suspended from first team activities.

According to a short statement from the club, “AS Monaco announces that it has decided to suspend its duties as coach of the first team Thierry Henry from this day and waiting for a final decision.

“Franck Passi will train the professional group this Friday.”

The Arsenal legend has endured a torrid time at the Stade De Louis II with results going rather badly since October.

The team is currently in 19th place and is battling relegation. They haven’t won anything in 4 games and they hit a low point after they were defeated 5-1 by Strasbourg on January 19.

Henry’s situation has not been helped after comments he made during the Strasbourg defeat to defender  Kenny Lala who’s Grandmother he insulted.

The Arsenal legend apologized, but followed that performance with a loss to Metz which was nothing short of humiliating.

Henry has also cut a controversial figure in the dressing room, threatening to drop first team players for the match against Dijon.

“You have to see. There were not too many people in training yesterday. We’ll see today,” Henry said in his news conference Thursday.

“It’s important to see the reaction at Dijon. We are in a critical situation – unfortunately, that has not changed.

“We tightened up the group. At some point, you need guys who want to save the club, who don’t think about themselves. We’re sorting it out. We’re going to war.”
