Elections: INEC unveils 2023 preliminary voter list at polling stations

2 Min Read

The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has released the preliminary voter list for the elections in 2023.

The voter list has been displayed at polling stations across the country as well as on the commission’s website.

The commission stated in a notice on Saturday that it is displaying the register for eligible voters to confirm their details and report persons ineligible to vote who have been captured in the register.

“The commission will print and display the Preliminary Register of Voters (2011 till date) at the Registration Areas (Wards) and the headquarters of Local Government and Area Councils nationwide,” the notice reads.

“To view the displayed preliminary register of voters of a Polling Unit (PU) on the website, select the State, the Ward and the Polling Unit and click “DISPLAY”. The list of voters in that PU will be displayed for scrutiny.

“The display exercise at the Registration Areas (Wards) will be undertaken by the staff of the Commission and supported by National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) members in the locality.”

The list will be displayed between November 12 and November 25, 2022, according to the electoral commission.

“From this portal, you can make claims and raise objections. During this display period, any person may make a claim that the name of a registered voter has been omitted, make corrections on his/her personal details on the register, raise an objection against the inclusion of any person not qualified to vote or the name of a dead person on the register,” INEC added.
