Governor Nasir El-Rufai has come down hard on Ministries, Departments and Agencies in Kaduna rejecting youth corps members sent to them, while warning them against the act.
The governor made this known on Monday while attending the end of the orientation course for 2015 Batch ‘B’ corps members posted to the state.
El-Rufai said his administration would view any case of rejection of corp members by any MDA with utmost seriousness.
“I am fully aware that the major challenge of corps members after the orientation course is rejection by prospective employers.
“To this end, I wish to use this medium to remind MDAs in the state not to reject corps members posted to them because it is against the state government policy”.
The governor, who was represented by his Commissioner for Sports, Youth and Culture, Daniel Dan’auta said the government will ensure their welfare and promote an enabling environment for them to have a blissful service year.
While stating that sustainable economic development was only possible with a sound educational background, the governor appealed to Nigerians to always promote national unity and cohesion.
In his remark, the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) State Coordinator in Kaduna, Muhammed Momoh urged the corps members to embrace the culture of their host communities.
