Official Spokesman of the 2023 PDP presidential campaign, Daniel Bwala has said that the immediate-past administration of Nasir El-Rufai made Kaduna State “ungovernable” for incumbent governor, Senator Uba Sani.
Bwala said this in an X post on Sunday.
At a town hall meeting in Kaduna on Saturday, Sani said he inherited a debt burden of $587 million, N85 billion and 115 contractual liabilities from the El-Rufai administration.
The governor said his government is unable to pay workers’ salaries due to the inherited debt, adding that the debt burden is eating deep into the state’s coffers.
Sani’s disclosure has caused ripples within the APC ranks in Kaduna.
Reacting, Bwala said, “There are two ways a bad leader can make a state ungovernable; one is to promote or allow insecurity to thrive and the other is to leave a debt burden beyond states’ comprehension
“With a debt burden of 587 million Dollars, 85 billion Naira, and 115 Contractual Liabilities, the past administration of Kaduna State has made the state ungovernable
“May God help Governor Sani to find ways to govern Kaduna State.”
