Governor Nasir el-Rufai

Governor Nasir El-Rufai of Kaduna State has said that in the last seven months through the efforts of his administration, the security of the state has improved drastically.

The governor who spoke at the Moro’a annual cultural day in Manchock, Kaduna State at the weekend, said many residents of the state had attested to that fact, adding that the General Martin Luther Agwai committee which went round the state in that respect had done a fantastic job that yielded positive results.

“We thank all traditional rulers, pastors and imams in the state for joining hands with the government to bring security to the state. The Commissioner of Police in the state has also tried his best in this regard.

Again, Retired General Martin Luther Agwai has been so outstanding in this whole thing. In fact, we begged him to chair a committee that went round the 23 local government areas in the state to reconcile all the different segments and populations of all the communities.

“He went around talking and putting heads together with the leaders, traditional rulers, pastors, imams and the youth in order to find out the solution to the crisis in some of our communities in these few years. Since General Agwai and his committee went round the state, we have not had any crisis or attack in Southern Kaduna and other parts.

Besides, our administration has been keenly looking into the recommendations made by the committee and by God’s grace we shall follow the recommendations,” he said,” he said.

The governor said his administration was committed to developing agriculture, education, youth empowerment and social justice, saying that he and President Muhammadu Buhari are committed to delivering dividends of democracy to the common man.
In his remarks, the president of Moro’a Development Association, Daniel Gaggah, said peace had actually returned after the repeated attacks by gunmen which claimed lives and property.

He called on the federal government to establish a military base in the zone to aid security surveillance and compliment the efforts of the state government on security.
