The El Clasico may have come and gone, but the ripples generated by the 4-0 bashing of Real Madrid by bitter rivals, Barcelona may not leave us anytime soon, as the victors have filed an official complaint against two former Madrid players for justifying Isco’s foul on Neymar that got sent him off just minutes after coming into the game.
The two former Madrid players, Manolo Sanchis and Poli Rincon, who are now pundits, reportedly went on Spanish radio to say that Neymar deserved the brash 85th-minute tackle from Isco that got him shown a straight red.
Barcelona described the statements as “publically and repeatedly” justifying “aggression”, and said the matter had been reported to the government’s commission set up to tackle violence in football.
According to a statement on the issue made available on its website, the club believes the statements by the two individuals are capable of causing an “incitement to violence and therefore ask for action from the anti-violence commission”.
