The El Clasico may have claimed its first casualty, as Barcelona defender Marc Bartra went ahead to delete a tweet in which he called for support for the Blaugrana after learning he would not be making the trip to the Santiago Bernabeu.
According to MARCA, the 24-year-old had tweeted: “Really up for El Clásico! Come on Barça”.
Minutes after learning that he would not be part of Luis Enrique’s team and would be watching the game at home, he went ahead to delete the Tweet.
The Spain international made the national team squad in a game against England where they came out victorious, so he apparently expected to make the trip for one of the biggest games of the season.
