The Inspector-General of Police (IGP), Mohammed Adamu, has appointed new commissioners for Ekiti, Ogun, Cross River and Bayelsa States.
The appointment of the new commissioners was announced in a statement signed by Force Public Relations Officers (FPRO), DCP Frank Mba.
Adamu appointed CP Mobayo Babatunde as the new commissioner for Ekiti, CP Edward Awolowo Ajogun as the new commissioner for Ogun, CP Abdulkadir Jimoh as the new commissioner for Cross River, and CP Okoli C. Michael as the new commissioner for Bayelsa.
According to the statement, the postings are with immediate effect.
It was learnt that the postings are routine, as some of the officers being replaced are either proceeding to the National Institute for Policy and Strategic Studies (NIPSS), National Defence College or are getting set for pre-retirement leave.

The Herald recalls that the IGP ordered posting of new commissioners to Edo, Bauchi, Ebonyi, Gombe, Ondo, and Oyo state commands on May 28.
