Gov. Inuwa Yahaya of Gombe state has urged residents of the state to be security conscious as Muslim Ummah mark this year’s Eid el-Kabir celebration.

Speaking through Mr Ismail Uba-Misilli, his Senior Special Assistant on Media and Publicity in Gombe on Thursday, the governor said residents have roles to play in ensuring the safety of everyone.
Yahaya prayed for a hitch-free and peaceful Eid celebration full of blessings and benevolence of Almighty Allah.
“I urge the people to report any act of breach of law and order capable of threatening the prevailing peace in the state.
“On our part, government will not abdicate from its primary responsibility of protecting the lives and property of the people,’’ he said.
The governor restated his administration’s commitment to continue to support the security agencies in their efforts towards ensuring peace and security of the state.
Yamaha urged Muslim faithful to remain steadfast in prayers for peace and development of the state.
He tasked residents to play their roles by complying with the COVID-19 safety protocols and guidelines all the times.
