The Federal Road Safety Commission (FRSC), Badagry Command, has deployed more than 140 personnel to Badagry Area of Lagos State, to prevent road crashes and breakdown of traffic rules during the Eid-el-Kabir celebrations.
The Unit commander, Mr Fatai Bakare told the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in Badagry that the officials were stationed at strategic locations to ensure that motorists abide by traffic rules.
“Our officials are going to be alert during this period and we are deployed at different locations in Badagry and Seme areas.
“Our men will pay special attention to Iyafin, Gbaji, Aradagun and Mowo area of Badagry because they are sensitive places, but that doesn’t mean that we will not cover every other place.
“This sallah break will be like every other day in this command because we always carry out checks on vehicles, so I want to assure the public that there will be no case of accidents during this period’’, he said.
Bakare advised motorists to check the state of their vehicles before embarking on trips.
“There will be a lot of vehicular movement, so, people must ensure that they check the state of their vehicles before embarking on any trip.
“The way you take care of your car is the same way the vehicle will treat you so people must ensure that their vehicles remain in a perfect condition,” he said. (NAN)
