The Pharaohs of Egypt have announced their readiness for the 2017 African Cup of Nations finals with a 5-1 thrashing of Chad today.
The victory which is their second in Group G of the 2017 AFCON qualifiers takes them above the Super Eagles of Nigeria who played a goalless draw with Tanzania in Dar es Salaam on Saturday.
As it stands, the Pharaohs have 6 points from two matches while the Super Eagles have 4 points from the same number of matches. The Taifa Stars of Tanzania have 1 point while the Sao of Chad have no point yet to show for their efforts in their two matches so far, having equally lost their first match against Nigeria.
The Pharaohs’ next match in the qualifying series will be against the Super Eagles.
