She has never been charged to court however despite calls from various quarters for the EFCC to stop the media trial and charge the former Petroleum Minister to Court.

This time however, the spokesperson for the EFCC confirmed that the commission was taking the recent steps because of calls from various quarters for the extradition of the former minister over several allegations of impropriety against her.

Orilade further stated that the EFCC’s operations department has made a presentation to the legal department to commence the process although it is to be processed through the office of the Attorney-General of the Federation.

Federal Government Responds to Atiku’s Alleged Harassment at Airport

Earlier in 2017, a Federal High Court in Lagos had ordered the final forfeiture of N7.6 billion alleged loot recovered from the former Minister to the Federal Government, based on an application by the EFCC.

The Petroleum Minister had reiterated her innocence of the allegations against her and asked the EFCC to charge her to court rather than engage in a baseless media trial.
