Uyiekpen Giwa-Osagie, a lawyer of a former vice president, Atiku Abubakar, has been re-arraigned before a Federal High Court in Lagos state.
Giwa-Osagie was brought before Justice Chukwujekwu Aneke by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) on Friday, March 6, over allegations bordering on money laundering.
The commission accused both the lawyer and his brother, Erhunse, of making a cash payment of $2 million without going through a commercial bank during preparations for the 2019 elections.
Justice Aneke, however, fixed Monday, March 9, for ruling on Giwa-Osagie’s application for permission to travel to London for medical checkup.
