The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has raided the Maitama, Abuja apartment of two sons of former Vice President Atiku Abubakar.
Atiku’s spokesman, Paul Ibe disclosed this on Monday, The Punch reported.
He said that operatives of the anti-graft agency raided the homes of Aliyu and Mustapha Atiku-Abubakar on Saturday but found nothing incriminating in the apartment.
Ibe was quoted as saying that the raid was orchestrated to intimidate their father, who is the presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in the 2019 general election.
The EFCC has yet to respond to the allegation.
This is coming around the same period that the bank accounts of PDP vice presidential candidate, Peter Obi were reportedly frozen alongside those of his wife and children, which has also been described by the opposition as an act of intimidation.
