Senate Minority Leader, Chief Godswill Akpabio has returned to the headquarters of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission for continuation of questioning by top officials of the agency that commenced on Friday evening.
The former Governor of Akwa Ibom is being tried for allegations of N108.1 billion fraud committed during his tenure as helmsman of the state between 2007 and 2015.
He was said to have left the EFCC headquarters around 9pm on Friday, having reportedly gotten there at 5.20pm.
Just like yesterday, Akpabio went to the EFCC headquarters in company of Senior Advocate of Nigeria, Ricky Tarfa and some aides.
Akpabio is not the only principal member of the Nigerian Senate facing corruption allegations, as the Senate President, Dr. Bukola Saraki is being tried at the Code of Conduct Tribunal, for charges bordering on false declaration of assets during his tenure as Governor of Kwara State between 2003 and 2011.
