The Economic and Financial Crimes commission (EFCC) has reportedly detained Mr. Jide Omokore, an ally of former Oil minister, Diezani Madueke.
Omokore who is a stakeholder in several companies under investigation for corruption is also a friend of former President Goodluck Jonathan.
According to sources with information on the matter, Omokore is being questioned by the EFCC in connection to the mismanagement of several multi billion dollar oil and gas transactions and contracts under the Jonathan administration.
Madueke has repeatedly come under scrutiny and allegtions of graft for unilaterally awarding Omokore’s company, Atlantic Energy a controlling ownership of two rich oil blocks for a paltry $50 million.
For a similar interest, Shell paid $1.3 billion after a transparent bidding process.
