The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) continued its investigation into alleged extortion against Senator Shehu Sani by searching his two Abuja homes Wednesday.
Recall that Kaduna businessman and Chairman of ASD Motors, Alhaji Sani Dauda accused the senator, who represented Kaduna Central in the 8th Senate, of extorting $24,ooo from him. The senator was arrested on December 31, 2019 over the allegation.
Sani has vehemently denied the allegations, saying that the only transaction he had with ASD Motors was car purchase.
However, EFCC operatives searched Sani’s homes in Maitama and Wuse 2.
TheCable quoted one of the senator’s aides, Suleiman Ahmed, as confirming the search.
According to him, EFCC operatives arrived at the Maitama residence around 2 pm and moved to the house at Wuse 2 around 3:30 pm.
The operatives are believed to be in pursuit of evidence pertaining to the case.
