EFCC nabs 29 suspected internet fraudsters in Enugu

The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) says operatives of its Enugu Zonal Command have arrested 29 suspected internet fraudsters in a sting operation in Enugu state.

According to a Monday statement released by the anti-graft agency, the suspects were arrested on Friday, September 15.

“The suspects are: Ali Chukwuebuka, Arinze Ede, Charles Aforka, Ugwueke Chidera, Ugwu Felix Chenedu, Chizu Ifejika, Chris Emmanuel, Chukwuka Onye, Chukwuneke Nicholas, Daniel Okwume, Ebubechukwu Egbo Victor, and Ejeh Monday Nelson

“Others include; Francis Peter Ifechukwu, Chibuzor Ikweze Anthony, Joshua Onah, Martin Excel Ozichukwu, Ejeh Moses, Ogbonna Okpata, Ohia Excel, Nicholas Okereke, Kingsley Onyedikachi, Osinachi Johnson, Enejeh Paul, John Samuel, Omeh Kamsichukwu Joseph, Chigozie Egwuatu Chiderem, Okechukwu Ezeka, Johnson Onuorah, and Emmanuel Johnson,” the EFCC said.

The commission added that items recovered from the suspects include two Lexus IS 350 cars, 45 mobile phones, seven personal computers, one Airtel Wi-Fi and one hard drive.

“The suspects have made useful statements and will be charged to court soon,” the EFCC said.
