The management of Coscharis motors has reportedly been unable to show evidence of payment to BMW for the payment of $1.6 million. This information was made available by SaharaReporters, the news medium that broke the story of the armoured car scam to the Nigerian public.
The vehicles were said to be grossly over inflated, a claim Coscharis Motors vehemently denied during the House of Representatives probe into the allegations.
The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission now prosecuting their own probe have been unable to get the management of the auto company to provide financial details of the transaction, indicating that there is an attempt to cover up the financial aspect of the transaction.
Some publications had established that there might have been a deal between the Aviation minister and Coscharis for some kind of kickback as experts have put the cost of the vehicle at less than $250,000 per unit. This means at least $1 million was the amount the contract was over inflated by.
The Reps Committee recommended the sack of Oduah, however the Presidency has said it will wait on a report of a panel set up by it to finish their own investigation.
The deadline for that panel’s investigation was yesterday.
