The EFCC made this known via its Facebook page on which it wrote:
“HAPPENING NOW… EFCC LAGOS ZONAL OFFICE DISCOVERS OVER 400 MILLION NAIRA & STILL COUNTING IN AN ABANDONED BUREAU THE CHANGE.”
The anti-graft agency upon counting the money recovered from the abandoned shop at LEGICO Shopping Plaza, Ahmadu Bello Way, Victoria Island, Lagos declared a total sum of N448, 850,000 (Four hundred and forty eight million, eight hundred and fifty thousand naira) only.
Traders at the building complex noted that they were not aware that such money was in the house as the place is hardly ever opened for business.
The money, according to the EFCC was stashed in several Ghana Must Go bags in the N500 and N1000 denominations notes.
