The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has declared Leno Laitan Adesanya, promoter of Sunrise Power and Transmission Ltd, wanted.

The anti-graft commission shared a notice on its Facebook page on Wednesday, February 21, indicating that Adesanya is wanted “in an alleged case of conspiracy and corrupt offer to public officers”.

According to the notice signed by EFCC spokesman, Dele Oyewale, the 66-year-old suspect is from Eti-Osa Local Government Area of Lagos State.

His last known address was listed as 26 Balarabe Musa Crescent, Victoria Island, Lagos.

The commission urged anyone with useful information that could lead to the suspect’s arrest to report at its office or the nearest police station.

Adesanwa was named in three out of the seven-count charges preferred by the EFCC against former Minister of Power and Steel, Olu Agunloye.

Agunloye is being prosecuted over his involvement in the controversial award of $6 billion Mambilla hydropower contract to Sunrise Power and Transmission Ltd.

The EFCC had said it traced suspicious payments made by Adesanya and Sunrise Power to Agunloye’s Guaranty  Trust Bank (GTB) account for approving the Mambilla Hydroelectric Power Station project.
