The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission has arrested yet another ex-Governor in its heightened fight against corruption and corrupt government officials.
The anti-corruption agency arrested the Ex-governor of Kaduna state, Alhaji Lamaran Yaro alongside the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, governorship aspirant in Kano state, Alhaji Salihu Sagir Takai yesterday in connection with the ongoing case against former petroleum Minister, Diezani Alison-Madueke.
The Anti-graft agency also arrested the Secretary of the Kano PDP, Alhaji Auwalu Ibrahim Danzabuwa.
According to news agency, Daily Trust, Both Yaro and Takai spent the night in the anti-graft agency’s zonal office in Kano.
In reaction to the arrests, a Peoples Democratic Party chieftain in Kano, Alhaji Musa Iliyasu Kwankwaso, said they were trying to meet the bail conditions laid down by the anti-graft agency to free them.
