Embattled Acting chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), Ibrahim Magu was allegedly detained overnight at the Police Force headquarters in Abuja as he was questioned late into the night by a Presidential panel.
Magu was arrested on Monday in Abuja and questioned on allegations of abuse of office, impunity and corruption by a presidential panel led by the former President of the Court of Appeal, Ayo Salami.

According to a report by Cable, the EFCC boss was grilled by the panel until 10pm on Monday before he was ordered to be detained overnight for questioning to continue on Tuesday.
Earlier, the Attorney General of the Federation, Abubakar Malami had asked President Muhammadu Buhari to sack Magu over very weighty allegations.
Some of these allegations include;
- Discrepancies in the reconciliation records of the EFCC on recovered funds
- Leaking investigative reports to the media before going to court
- Sale of seized assets to cronies, associates and friends
- Shortfall of N35 billion in his declaration of recovered funds
- Insubordination to the AGF
- Not providing enough evidences for the extradition of Diezani Alison-Madueke
- Ignoring court order to unfreeze a N7 billion judgment in favour of a suspect
