Veteran musician Eedris Abdulkareem has made a scathing comparison, stating that the current hardship under President Bola Tinubu’s administration surpasses the difficulties he sang about in his infamous song “Nigeria Jagajaga” during former President Olusegun Obasanjo’s tenure.
In his latest song, “Emilokan”, Abdulkareem lamented the escalating hardship and insecurity in the country, criticizing the government for shifting blame instead of addressing the issues. He sang, “Tinubu government blames Buhari, Buhari government blamed Jonathan. Hunger dey, people dey die. This one don pass JagaJaga. Emilokan oti ebi lokan” (This situation is worse than the “Jagajaga” era).
Abdulkareem’s song is a stark commentary on the country’s current state, echoing the sentiments of many Nigerians struggling under the weight of economic hardship and insecurity.
