The Minister of Education, Adamu Adamu has reportedly been rushed to Germany for urgent medical attention.
The minister is said to be receiving treatment for an undisclosed ailment believed to be serious, SaharaReporters reported Monday.
However, it was gathered that Adamu has been having a kidney condition and undergoing a procedure.
According to the report, the latest trip was the third such medical trip to Germany by the minister since the onset of COVID-19.
The minister’s absence is said to have stalled quite a few decisions that should have been taken in the education sector.
Adamu’s absence is said to have delayed efforts to reopen schools.
It is also said to have worsened the crisis confronting the University of Lagos (UNILAG), where the Vice Chancellor, Prof Oluwatoyin Ogundipe, and Pro-Chancellor, Dr. Wale Babalakin were suspended to enable a probe into the administration’s usage of the institution’s funds.
