The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) National Campaign Council on Edo Governorship Election has announced the closure of all forms of campaign and canvassing for votes for the September 19 Edo state governorship.
According to a statement, the announcement took effect at midnight Thursday in accordance with the provisions of the Electoral Act.

The statement was signed by the National Publicity Secretary of PDP, Kola Ologbondiyan.
“By this statement, the PDP no longer authorises any campaign material under any form whatsoever for our party or our candidate for the September 19 election.

“The PDP expresses gratitude to the leaders and people of Edo state for their solidarity and support for our candidate, Governor Godwin Obaseki, and urged them to remain resilient in their determination to vote and take all steps available in a democratic setting to protect their votes to the very end.”
