Governor Godwin Obaseki of Edo State met with with President Muhammadu Buhari at the Presidential villa on Monday ahead of the governorship primaries in the state.
The Governorship primaries of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Edo State is expected to hold later this month amid a tense political atmosphere in the state.

Obaseki presented his expression of interest form for re-election to President Buhari during the visit.
Speaking to correspondents at the villa on the reason for his visit, the Governor said;
“Even though President Buhari is a father, it will be wrong to assume or take things for granted so I have to formally inform him.“
Obaseki further claimed that his government has screened 300,000 people for COVID-19 in Edo state so far.
He also assured that the killers of the UNIBEN Student, Uwaila Omozuwa will be brought to justice for the heinous crime.
