The immediate-past Governor of Ekiti State, Ayodele Fayose, has condemned the President Muhammadu Buhari administration’s incessant withdrawal from the Excess Crude Account (ECA), saying he warned Nigerians against voting for the president.
According to the vocal ex-governor, the ECA that had funds in excess of $2.05 billion at the inception of Buhari’s administration in 2015 now holds less than $631 million.
Fayose said the administration has been unable to justify the humongous funds withdrawn from the account.
He said, “Within three weeks, $1.6bn gone from the Excess Crude Account. $631m now left in ECA that Buhari met $2.05bn in 2015. From the same ECA, they took $1bn purportedly to fight the same Boko Haram that is even more stronger than it was in 2015. I warned!”
