Easter Celebration: Lagos Lawmaker Distributes 1,000 Live Chickens, 500 Bags Of Rice, Others To Constituents

2 Min Read

In an unprecedented move, the lawmaker representing Ifako-Ijaiye Constituency 01 at the Lagos State House of Assembly, Hon Adewale Temitope Adedeji, OON, (JP), distributed 1,000 live chickens, 500 bags of rice, cash gifts and other items to constituents to celebrate Easter.

The distribution of the items also coincided with the 72nd birthday celebration of President Bola Tinubu who had earlier instructed his associates and well-wishers that intend to celebrate with him on that day to channel their donation to the people.

Hon Adewale, also the Chairman, House Committee on Transportation, said the gesture was to show the essence of Easter which is about sacrifice and to follow the instruction of President Tinubu, who has been a father and mentor to him all along.

“Easter is a time to celebrate the death and resurrection of our Lord Jesus Christ and the key message is about love and sacrifice. For me, it is all about bringing smiles to the faces of my constituents. I am here because they chose me as their representative and the least I can do is to represent them well.

“Today also coincides with the birthday of my mentor and father, President Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu. As he rightly instructed, rather than hosting parties in his honour, people were encouraged to demonstrate love to others by donating to charity organisations.”

Hon Adewale urged Christians to continue to pray for the nation as the current challenges will soon be a thing of the past.
