Super Eagles assistant coach, Jean Francois Loscuito has backed Watford forward Odion Ighalo to emerge the highest goal scorer in the current Barclays Premier League season.
The Belgian in an interview with Complete Sports said he believed Ighalo would beat the duo of Leicester City’s Jamie Vardy and Everton’s Romelu Lukaku to the top honours.
The 26-year-old is currently on 14 goals, compared to the 15 scored by Vardy and Lukaku.
“He (Ighalo) is in great form at the moment and with the way he is going at the moment, he is going to score a lot of goals for Watford this season,” Loscuito said. “I strongly believe he can beat the likes of Vardy, Lukaku and the other top strikers in the EPL to the top scorers award.”
