Popular Entertainment Channel E on DSTV cable television is set to premiere a new documentary series “E VIP” on notable African celebrities with the first episode featuring Nigerian singer, Tiwa Sage.
This is contained in a statement issued by Colin McLeod, the Managing Director, UK &Emerging Markets, NBC Universal International Networks, made available to newsmen on Friday in Abuja.
“After the great success of the E! News Special, we are delighted to debut “E VIP” on E Entertainment Television in Africa.
“E is committed to bringing audiences across the continent more original, local content and we are proud to showcase some of Africa’s biggest names in music and entertainment in this new series.”
“It will give viewers an exclusive insight into the life of Africa’s most notable and loved celebrities, giving them a taste of what it’s like to live life in the limelight,’’ he said.
According to him, the first episode which will be aired on Sunday June 12, will feature fast-rising Nigerian singer Tiwa Savage.
“Thereafter the series would continue with celebrities such as Rita Dominic, Diamond, Mafikizolo, D’Banj and Cassper Nyovest, with in-depth interviews by the hosts.’’
He added that the show “E VIP” would be a 12-part series and would be aired at 8 p.m only on E Channel.
Following the announcement, “Marvin Records First Lady”, as she is popularly called by fans, Tiwa Savge expressed happiness over the development.
“I am so excited, HUGE platform.
“I watch E all the time and now I will be watching my own mini documentary series.
