DSS Orders Afegbua to report today

THE Department of State Security (DSS) has asked spokesperson to former military president Gen. Ibrahim Babangida Mr. Kassim Afegbua to report again to its Abuja office today.

Afegbua’s lawyer Dr. Kayode Ajulo said his client was interrogated for hours by DSS operatives and directed to report at the Abuja headquarters of the agency “to conclude the chat” today.

Afegbua arrived at the DSS’ expansive complex near the Presidential Villa in Abuja just before 12 noon yesterday.

“The DG wanted to see the man (Afegbua) himself and that was why we kept him and his team waiting.

“We even crack jokes with them. We told them that the DG wanted to see Afegbua himself and that was why they waited for long hours.

“But after waiting for some hours, his lawyer suggested that they wanted to leave and return on Friday for the meeting. That’s what happened. The DG may lead the team of the interrogators. “

Sources close to the security outfit told our correspondent that Afegbua would be questioned on the directive he got from the former military dictator that made him (Afegbua) to issue a public statement on behalf of his principal that President Muhammadu Buhari should not contest in 2019.

Afegbua was also being investigated by the police on the same matter.
Shortly after issuing the controversial statement, another one was also issued, bearing the name of the former military dictator whose content was different from the one signed by Afegbua.
